THE INTERIOR AND DETAILS

One day my husband came home fascinated and told me about the newly built building in Bagebi, where our friends had bought an apartment. At the time, our daughter Anna was two years old and a green environment with clean air was very important. When I first saw this place for myself, I knew that it was exactly what we had been looking for. This part of Bagebi is truly comfortable to live in every way. You are away from the city and at the same time, you live in the city.

To tell the truth, I had no experience of arranging an apartment before. My friend, architect, and designer Ruso Lashkhi, helped me a great deal. She designed and planned it in such a way that it’s very practical to live in. I am a great admirer of the work of my friend, painter Giorgi Gagoshidze. I asked for permission to use one of his works. I transferred the picture as a print on wallpaper and I think it turned out very beautiful.

As for the furniture, I had two options, either old or modern. In this case, I opted for new furniture, however I still adapted it to my favorite style of the 60s. I didn’t look away from the computer for probably three months, I was constantly looking for ways to furnish the interior. In the end, I got this result. “Muto” couch, “Poliform” seats, “Tachin” table and chairs. The TV table was my idea. My husband went through considerable effort to bring the chandelier in Anna’s room from one of his trips, only to discover later that the same model was available for sale in Tbilisi.

Deciding on colors was the most difficult part. Nowadays, white flats are in fashion. My previous living environment had also been white, but this time I wanted something different. I went through all possible options until I found the right color palette. In the end, we mixed different colors of paint and conducted experiments on this balcony. I consulted painter Tina Chkhikvishvili. The curtains are similar to the wall colors in all of the rooms. I devoted the most time to Anna’s room and adapted it to her personality. I wanted the balcony to be like a room. I took a risk and decided to floor it with material that is rarely used in outdoor conditions. In the end, I am convinced that it was the balcony that truly completed the apartment, merging seamlessly into a unified whole, just as I had imagined.
