INTERVIEW WITH INTERIOR DESIGNER LIZA KHUNDADZE

This apartment is located in a residential complex that immediately gave us a sense of peace and tranquility, thanks to the large green inner courtyard surrounded by residential buildings. The apartment we designed is situated on the second floor of a four-story building, with a total area of 175 square meters. We were faced with the following situation: within the space, we had to plan a guest room, a kitchen and
three bedrooms.

Our first task was to allocate the spaces functionally so that each of the three bedrooms would have an independent, fully-equipped wardrobe and bathroom. Our main goal was to distribute the space and create an atmosphere that would suit the personality and lifestyle of the residents.

The character of the home is defined by the various finishing materials used on the walls: concrete, wooden panels, and white stained glass walls. We retained the existing monolithic concrete walls and ceiling in most areas. Most of the partitions have rounded corners and are covered with wood-textured panels. The main finishing materials used are MDF veneered panels, white stained glass, and mirrors.

We introduced stark details in the form of various furniture pieces – tables, nightstands, and shelves. Most of the furniture was custom-made on-site, allowing us to create products specifically tailored for this apartment.
