The story of one small roof - Sopo Gagua

I first started working as an interior designer with my apartment. Then I moved on to a friend’s apartment, followed by designing a hotel, and later, the interior of a cafe. Later, I won a tender, and quite unexpectedly, I found myself involved in this field.

Of course, further education was necessary. I dedicated time to learning various drawing programs and engaging with professional literature, allowing this hobby to gradually morph into a profession.
I still struggle to call myself an interior designer. I simply do projects for friends and relatives, who affirm that I ”do them well.”

The residents of this apartment are also my friends, having lived in this space for 20 years. Over time, the house has evolved and expanded, becoming a space where everyone loves to spend time.

First they added a room, wondering where to cut the door. As books began to accumulate, the idea for a library emerged, followed by thoughts of adding a gallery for paintings, deciding on the color for a wall, considering how to enlarge the kitchen, and that’s how we ended up extending to the second floor. The beautiful terrace, with an amazing view of the entire Tbilisi, is green at all times of the year. We devoted a lot of time to planting and selecting greenery so that there was always a green environment around.
